Arclite is a private company

We are two founders in Louisville, KY building cash operations for small businesses. This page is what we can say in public. The rest happens on a call.

The problem

Profitable businesses run out of cash on a particular Friday.

Not because anyone is hiding anything. The money leaves on a schedule the owner does not control and arrives on one the customer sets, and the information that would have shown the gap sits in the ledger until it is too late to act on.

Those three are from our own research page, where each one is published with its sample size and a link to the original report. The same page lists the popular late payment statistics we refuse to cite and where they really came from. If you are diligencing this market, start there: late payment data by industry.

What we built

A forecast that is worth acting on, plus the acting.

Plenty of tools will show a small business a cash chart. Almost none of them do anything about the number once it is on the screen, which is why the chart gets looked at once and then ignored.

See the week, then work the week.

Arclite reads a QuickBooks Online ledger, times every open invoice to how that customer has actually paid before rather than to the term printed on it, and puts thirteen weeks in front of the owner. Then it ranks the overdue invoices by which one moves the tight week, drafts the follow-up, and waits for approval.

  • Timed to behavior, not termsA net-30 customer who always takes 58 days is modeled at 58 days. That is the difference between a forecast and a chart.
  • The second half is the moatCollections, bill ranking and workflows all run off the same forecast, so the product closes its own loop.
  • A person approves everythingNothing sends and nothing pays on its own. That is a product decision we do not intend to trade away.

The full product is documented in public: forecasting, collections, bills, Beans, workflows and the advisor portal.

How it is sold

The model, in public.

  • One price, published$50 a month with 100 credits included and 50 cents for each credit over. It is on the pricing page, not behind a form.
  • Advisors priced to the bookFractional CFOs, CPAs and bookkeepers run many clients from one portal. That price is sized on a call, per practice.
  • QuickBooks Online, one integrationOne integration and one ledger. Writes are limited to payments and invoices, and every one waits for approval. That is a deliberate limit on the surface area.
  • Self-serve and partner ledAn owner can sign up and connect in about five minutes. An advisor brings a book of them through one conversation.

Two ways in, one product underneath. An owner buys it for their own business at $50 a month. An advisor brings a whole client book through the advisor portal and is priced to that book.

Who is building it

Two operators who ran cash before they sold software for it.

Brad Couch and Christian Carr spent years running cash inside other people's companies. Arclite is the tool they wanted on the Fridays that got tight, which is a less interesting origin story than most and a more useful one.

The people who decide what it does are the people who build it.

There is no product layer between a customer and the founders. That will not stay true forever, but while it is, it is the fastest feedback loop this company will ever have.

  • Brad Couch, CEOBuilds the product and runs the partner motion. He is the one on the other end of a partnership call.
  • Christian Carr, COORuns operations. Between them they have spent years inside other people's books.
  • Based in LouisvilleKentucky, not a coast. The customers we build for are not on a coast either.

More on both of them on the team page, and the longer version of why they built this is onthe about page.

Talking to us

What is not on this page.

Financials, customer numbers, growth and projections are not published here and will not be. Arclite is a private company, so that material goes to people we are actually in a conversation with, directly. If you want it, ask for it and tell us who you are.

The fastest route is to book time with Brad, or emailhello@arclite.ai and say what you are looking at. A person answers.

The product is the argument.

Connect QuickBooks Online and Arclite builds the thirteen weeks from a real ledger. Seven days, nothing charged until day 7, no sales call first.
